Synopsis:
‘My Name is Lily’ is a powerful short film that takes place in 1871 in Philadelphia, about a cheating husband that is using his wife’s pregnancy to get ahead with his boss at the bank. When she informs him that she has had a miscarriage, he feels robbed of all the professional opportunities that the pregnancy would have created. The situation becomes verbally demeaning and physical abusive. She is faced with the questions of blame, guilt and what the price of true love really is. On the verge of losing everything, she has to make the hardest decision of her life, in choosing to stand up for herself, or bowing down to an abusive relationship. A powerful story of one woman's strength and perseverance through physical and emotional abuse, and the choices she makes for survival.
